About the Role

Vantage is looking for its next Senior Data Engineer to join our Measurement team. Our Measurement team is focused on enhancing the Insights Explorer feature of our platform, enabling the organizations we partner with to easily transform their retail media data into actionable insights.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing the data infrastructure that’s used to collect, process and analyze our massive data set. You’ll use a variety of cutting edge technologies to push the boundaries of what’s possible with real-time data and batch processing at scale.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working in data engineering, big data, and/or distributed systems for SaaS (Software as a Service) products.

  • Proficiency with Python, Django, and SQL.

  • Hands-on experience using Snowflake to build ETL/ELT pipelines, data-warehousing, and analysis.

  • Hands-on experience using Great Expectations to test and validate data quality, (or a similar data testing tool).

  • Hands-on experience with data modelling, data warehousing, and distributed systems.

  • Experience with privacy-compliant data processing (GDPR, CCPA) for advertising/retail media use-cases.

  • Track record of successful collaboration with other engineering and product teams.

  • Familiarity with how to manage real-time streaming data using tools such as Kafka, Kinesis, and/or Pub/Sub.

  • Bonus: Hands-on experience with data lakes, as well as ML (Machine Learning) pipelines.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural conversations and guide the development of our data infrastructure to ensure the availability of high-quality, trustworthy data.

  • Oversee the processing and transformation of data within our systems, and ensure proper data hygiene is maintained for downstream applications.

  • Write maintainable Python code to deliver high-quality, scalable data management solutions.

  • Document new and existing features clearly and effectively to support team alignment and aid in future development.

  • Coach and develop the broader Measurement team to raise collective capability and drive long-term team growth.

  • Communicate with stakeholders across the organization to align expectations and ensure transparency regarding data infrastructure and management.
