We at Coforge are hiring Lead Data Engineer (#20627) with the following skill set.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and engineering best practices to ensure scalable and high-quality data solutions.
  • Own and drive end-to-end data migration initiatives from Snowflake on AWS to Azure Databricks and DBT, including planning, execution, optimization, and risk mitigation.
  • Design, implement, and oversee scalable, secure, and reliable data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and ETL/ELT frameworks using Azure, Databricks, DBT, and Terraform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define data architecture standards, governance, CI/CD practices, and long-term platform strategies aligned with business objectives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, including 2–3 years in a leadership or technical lead role.
  • Proven experience leading data engineering teams and delivering enterprise-scale data platform initiatives.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Snowflake, Azure Databricks, and DBT.
  • Deep experience with cloud infrastructure, Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code best practices.
  • Strong experience delivering cloud migration projects, preferably from AWS to Azure environments.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency with strong expertise in data modeling and ETL/ELT architecture patterns.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based version control, and modern software engineering workflows.
  • Strong understanding of scalable data architecture, performance optimization, governance, and platform reliability.
  • Mandatory experience in the insurance industry, including familiarity with insurance data domains such as policies, claims, underwriting, and related processes.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with data governance frameworks including data lineage, cataloging, observability, and quality tooling.
  • Familiarity with streaming and real-time processing technologies such as Kafka, Event Hubs, or Delta Live Tables.
  • Experience designing lakehouse architectures and implementing cost optimization strategies.
  • Exposure to multi-cloud environments, security/compliance standards, and advanced automation practices.
