Job Summary

We are looking for a Data Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our data platform built on Databricks and Microsoft Azure. This role focuses on maintaining and improving data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and deployment processes, while driving operational excellence across the platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in automation, cloud engineering, and incident management, with a proactive approach to system reliability and continuous improvement. You will work closely with data engineers and platform teams to support Databricks workloads, optimize performance and costs, and ensure smooth release cycles and production stability.

 

 

Essential Skills

  • Strong SQL skills (data querying, optimization, and troubleshooting);
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python;
  • Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (environments, triggers, pipelines);
  • Experience managing Azure DevOps projects (users, permissions, organization);
  • Knowledge of repository management and branch policies;
  • Hands-on experience provisioning and maintaining infrastructure with Terraform;
  • Strong expertise in Azure (compute, storage, networking, containerization);
  • Experience working with Databricks (Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Lakehouse Federation);
  • Solid incident management experience (communication, troubleshooting, post-mortems, runbooks);
  • Experience with release management, including stakeholder coordination and end-to-end ownership of production releases

 

 

Highly Desirable Skills

  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana);
  • Background in data engineering or data platform environments;
  • Familiarity with distributed systems and big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark);
  • Experience optimizing cloud costs and performance;
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code best practices and DevOps culture.
