Role

We are seeking an engineer with strong technical leadership skills to join our dynamic team. As a DevSecOps Engineer at Clarity Innovations, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our products.

The Individual MUST have knowledge and hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation features for cloud based government systems.  Additionally, the individual should have knowledge and experience in deploying or utilizing system and platform observability tools and identifying both cost and performance bottlenecks.  As a technical leader, this role is responsible for assessing, creating, and improving the quality and performance of existing automation and cloud resource management as well as managing the software system supply chain.  Leadership duties include mentoring junior engineers, advising the customer on technical solutions and interacting frequently with peer engineering teams to foster a healthy collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Developing, testing and maintaining software automation for Air Force-based GIS products
  • Developing, testing and maintaining cloud-based deployments of supporting COTS systems
  • Optimizes software designs and architectures to deliver desired performance targets and devises tooling and methodologies to profile execution and capture performance metrics
  • Guiding technical decisions in optimize the performance and cost benefit of government cloud resources
  • Mentoring junior engineers in DevSecOps best practices
  • Maintains & guides the development of common best practices/tools used by multiple teams
  • Implements and practices DevOps Developer Enablement and helps more junior/less experienced engineers to do same 
Requirements
  • Knowledge of of deploying, troubleshooting, and monitoring .NET Framework apps running on Windows Server with IIS
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Proficiency in DevSecOps fundamentals–CI/CD, automation, security assessments, system & software supply chain management, observability & SIEM integration
  • 7 years of experience with DevSecOps tools and processes such as Git, GitLabCI, SonarQube, Trivy, Che, and KICS
  • 5 years of experience using enterprise-level cloud services; AWS experience preferred though comparable MS Azure or GCP will be considered
  • 5 years of experience using container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • 2 years of experience using Kubernetes management tools such as kubectl, k9s, ArgoCD, Helm Charts, etc.
  • 3 years mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in development, testing, and problem-solving
  • Active CompTIA Sec+, CMU SEI - Software Assurance Professional Certificate, or CSSLP certification or the ability to rapidly acquire one
Preferred Qualifications
  • Can support occasional short-duration travel to customer sites for meetings, deployments, or security events
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience. 
  • Familiarity with Oracle or Postgres SQL databases
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services
  • Familiarity with AWS GovCloud
  • Experience with Scrum, or other agile methodologies
  • 2 years of experience with backend runtimes and frameworks like .NET, Spring Boot
  • 2 years of test authoring experience in Javascript, Java, or other languages. (Unit tests, Integration tests, and Journey tests)
  • Active Secret or TS/SCI Clearance
