About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer in the open-source ecosystem, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications and services that run on container runtime like docker. You will work closely with our DevOps and Infrastructure teams to ensure robust, scalable, and efficient deployment processes. Services you build will be focused on high-performance, scalable networking solutions to meet the needs of software defined networks, telecom, and IoT applications.  

Location. This role is office-based at our Bellevue, Washington office. 

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Develop and maintain microservices and applications using Golang.
  • Develop features for dynamic network management, including automatic failover, load balancing, and path selection based on real-time network conditions.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure high availability and performance for deployed SD-WAN services.
  • Design and build scalable APIs and services that enable network automation, policy enforcement, and optimized traffic routing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
  • Debug and resolve issues related to Kubernetes clusters and applications.
  • Implement best practices for CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging.
  • Write comprehensive tests to ensure the reliability and stability of code.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to software defined networks, Kubernetes and cloud-native development.

Required Qualifications

US Citizenship

  • 7+ years of professional development experience
  • Proven experience in developing applications using Golang with proficiency in writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration.
  • Familiarity with client-go and Kubernetes API.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana, and logging tools like the ELK stack.
  • Solid knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including experience with network hardware such as routers, switches, and radios.
  • Understanding of SD-WAN architecture and smart network principles
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues, especially at the network layer.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile development environment.

Compensation

For U.S. Based candidates: To ensure fairness and transparency, the starting base salary range for this role for candidates in the U.S. are listed below, varying based on location experience, skills, and qualifications.

In addition to base salary, this role will also be offered equity and subsidized benefits (details available upon request).
